Talk & Wonder with Rowan

There are no right answers here. These are simply little questions to wonder about together.

I wonder…

  • How do you think Rowan felt when he realised he was lost?

  • Have you ever been really sure about something and then discovered you had got it wrong?

  • What can make it hard to ask someone for help?

  • What helped Rowan begin to feel more confident again?

  • What do you think a good friend can do when someone makes a mistake?

  • Can getting something wrong ever teach us something useful?

  • What might you say to Rowan if you were sitting beside him?

  • What would you want someone to say — or not say — if you had made a mistake?

One last wonder…

If you could add one thing to Rowan’s map to help him when he feels unsure, what would you add?

You could talk about it, draw it, or simply keep the answer in your head.

And a tiny grown-up note:

Follow the child’s lead. A question can be skipped, changed or left unanswered. Sometimes wondering together is enough.

My Map of Light

Sometimes it helps to notice the people, places and little things that help us find our way.

My Map of Light is a gentle reflective activity inspired by Rowan’s journey. Children can draw, write, colour or simply think about the things that help them feel safe, calm, proud, supported and able to take a small next step.

There are no right answers and no need to complete every part. The map is there to be explored at the child’s own pace.

Every map looks different — because every person finds their light in a different way.

You do not have to answer every question. Sometimes wondering together is enough.
